Corona, CA -- Volt Telecom Group continues to position itself
as premier service organization for voice, data and video
infrastructure through the formation of a new business unit and
the promotion of Sam Edmondson (picture at right) to Vice President – Wireless
Network Solutions. This newly formed division will enable Volt
Telecom Group to grow our wireless business for both
government and private sectors and enlarge our footprint in the
areas of maintenance, upgrades and infrastructure builds within
the wireless industry.
“I firmly believe that we have the capability to provide customers with our wireless network solution,” said Edmondson. “There are
incredible opportunities for Wi-Fi, WiMAX, WiMesh,
Microwave, Free Space Optics (FSO) and Cellular network
infrastructure builds, upgrades and maintenance and I think
we have the infrastructure in place to rapidly respond to new
customer requirements.”
Edmondson has 24 years of industry experience, including 12 with Volt Telecom Group. He started
his industry career path as a National Accounts Manager for Northern Telecom in Nashville, TN.
Moving to California, Edmondson continued as a Major Accounts Manager – AT&T for Alltel Corporation,
where he received numerous sales awards during his tenure. He moved to Pacific Telesis
Group where he assisted in a start-up business initiative to offer Pacific Bell turn-key
engineering and installation services of telecommunications Controlled Environmental Vaults
(CEVs) and above ground Huts. Prior to Volt Telecom Group he was a Director of Sales and Marketing for Brumfield Network
Communications, a start-up distributor of Broadband components in Alameda, CA.
Edmondson began his career with Volt Telecom Group as a Director of National Sales in 1995, and was
instrumental in developing the company’s first professional sales department, growing them
from a loosely organized small sales force of three (3) individuals to a total of eighteen (18)
National Account Managers. Through his leadership and expertise, his team increased
profitable revenue almost 1,500 percent between 1995 and 2000. In addition, he restructured and expanded sales’ focus
from one-dimensional (Customer Premise) disciplines to represent our companywide
capabilities that included Outside Plant Construction & Engineering, Central Office EF&I,
Wireless and Telecom Staffing within his first two years of employment. In 2004, Sam achieved
136 percent of revenue target with an effective cost-of-sales ratio of 5 percent,
earning him the President’s “Excellence In Management” Award.
Edmondson was graduated from Georgia Southern University with BS Degree – Business
Administration – Marketing.
