  • Verizon, Sivoo reach deal on multicultural programming: Verizon has reached a deal with Sivoo that will give it access to 236 Spanish-, Chinese- and Hindi-language films over three years. Philadelphia-based Sivoo operates an Internet TV network featuring multicultural on-demand programming, and the Verizon agreement is its first with a large provider of non-Internet video services.   • Cisco, IBM team up for unified communications
    As part of Cisco Systems' continued push to enable a single IP network to delivery a host of communication services, including telephony, the company is teaming with IBM to develop a Unified Communications and Collaboration platform.   • Yahoo! makes Windows Mobile push
    Yahoo! inked a deal to make its services available on Windows Mobile handsets made by High Tech Computer Corp., the top Windows Mobile handset maker. Yahoo!'s move is designed to increase its mobile reach by millions of handsets, according to the company, which already has deals to deliver its services on handsets made by four of the top five manufacturers.   • McCormick calls for action to spur broadband deployment
    Today before the House Small Business Committee, USTelecom CEO Walter McCormick called for policies that encourage broadband deployment so telecom companies can continue to deliver innovative communications services and new opportunities to small businesses in communities across the nation.   • Report: Online TV promos less than sum of parts
    Although the TV networks have fully committed to publicizing their top series via digital media, their use of multiple partners to carry out their online efforts is reducing their impact, according to a new report from search agency 360i. "When all the channels are connected, it will be easier for consumers to navigate through the entire campaign and remain engaged with the brand," said David Berkowitz, director of emerging media for 360i.
