Hutchison Telecommunications International Limited (HTIL) provides communications services to customers in the East -- Far, Middle, and Near. The company, which also sells wireless handsets and accessories, is a subsidiary of Hutchison Whampoa, which owns 59% of HTIL. The parent company maintains control over telecom interests in such mature markets as Western Europe and North America. HTIL primarily does business in Israel and Hong Kong after the sale of its CGP Investments Holdings operations to Vodafone in 2007. The company agreed the following year to sell its 75% stake in a Thailand-based cellular joint venture with CAT Wireless known as hutchison-CAT Wireless Multimedia.
