AH&LA Under 30 Gateway
Join millennials nationwide at the center of the industry
Launched July 1, 2008, the Under 30 Gateway membership category is AH&LA's first ever program dedicated to addressing the personal and professional needs of young hospitality professionals. Benefits and resources designed and implement by your peers, AH&LA's Under 30 Council, Gateway membership is open to all hospitality professionals working in any capacity.

If you're a current AH&LA member under age 30, you can join the Gateway at no extra charge. Nonmembers can enter the Gateway for an annual individual membership of $95. Simply fill out this online registration form, or download and fax it in.
This NEW addition to AH&LA's Stars of the Industry program, sponsored by the Gateway, honors an exemplary hotel employee under age 30 who has demonstrated superior professional dedication, leadership, and a fresh perspective to their job at an AH&LA member company. This individual should illustrate “out of the box” thinking in their professional and personal life, and dedication to the industry by actively participating in association, community, or industry programs. Award recipient should also be actively involved in community service in either the local or national arena.
This award was organized to honor the accomplishments of Stevan Porter, former president of the Americas for the InterContinental Hotels Group, and recognize the same level of enthusiasm and dedication to hospitality in young lodging employees under age 30. Click here for more on this award.
We encourage all Gateway members to apply for this honor, and illustrate their dedication to the industry. Please note, many state lodging associations require that submissions for this award be sent to them, and not to AH&LA directly. Their nominations alone will be considered by AH&LA. Edward Reynado, assistant lodging manager of the MacDilll Inn located in Tampa, Florida, presented his proposal to AH&LA’s board of directors during the AH&LA Fall Conference on November 9. AH&LA looks forward to implementing his plan in 2009 and working towards increasing student membership nationwide.

Aged 21 - 30, the 29 members of the Under 30 Council are employed in various sectors of the hospitality industry as hotel owners and managers, financial consultants, governmental affairs executives, and directors of state hospitality associations, among others. Made up of the industry's best and brightest as identified by their employers and AH&LA, the Council held its first meeting on March 7, 2008, to plan the Under 30 Gateway launch.
